Sophie Molineux
Regarded as the next big thing in Victorian cricket, Sophie Molineux has enjoyed an unrivalled junior career. Having served as the under-18 Victorian captain, the talented top-order batter and left-arm spinner also spent time learning from the state’s as a rookie in the VicSpirit squad. In 2014, having just turned 16, Molineux was named Player of the Championships at the Under-18 Nationals. She was the highest run-scorer for Victoria with 155 runs and also claimed 19 wickets for the tournament, at an incredible average of just 3.9. Molineux also flaunted her skill in WBBL, performing well for the Melbourne Renegades in the inaugural season of the WBBL. In 2018, she was an integral part of the Australian Women's cricket team, which went all the way to win a fourth ICC World T20 championship.
In 2017, Molineux won the Betty Wilson Young Player of the year.
